Water rates
Ordinary water use is included in general rates, but Metered/extraordinary water supply — Marton, Taihape, Ratana, Bulls, Mangaweka, Hunterville Urban (triannual meter-read billing) and Rural water supply schemes — Erewhon, Omatane, Hunterville Rural (twice-yearly billing) is billed on its own schedule.

Penalties for paying late
“a penalty of 10 per cent on the amount of each instalment that has been assessed after 1 July 2026 and which is unpaid after the due date of each instalment, to be applied on the following dates: 24 August 2026 (in respect of the first instalment); 23 November 2026 (in respect of the second instalment); 22 February 2027 (in respect of the third instalment); 24 May 2027 (in respect of the fourth instalment)” — Rangitīkei District Council's own wording.
10% applied 3 days after each general-rates instalment due date; the identical 10% structure applies separately to the metered/extraordinary urban water schedule and to the Hunterville Rural Water schedule, each on their own penalty dates set out in the Rates Resolution; a further 10% arrears penalty on any rates assessed in previous years and still unpaid on 7 July 2026, added 8 July 2026, and a further 10% on any of that amount still unpaid 6 months later, added 11 January 2027

Dog registration
Registration fees are set for all dogs over three months of age for each registration year. They shall be payable by 1 August in each registration year. An additional charge of 50% of the relevant fee will be applied to any fees due at 1 August, but not paid before that day.
